New Primary Care Provider at Ivinson
Tim Govaerts, MD is a board certified internal medicine physician.
Internal medicine physician, Timothy Govaerts, MD is joining the Primary Care clinic at Ivinson Medical Group (IMG) this month. Dr. Govaerts is a board certified physician with over 26 years of expertise.
He specializes in treating diabetes, hypertension and general internal medicine needs. Prior to joining the IMG team, Dr. Govaerts practiced as a nephrologist, providing kidney care for patients with chronic kidney disease, patients on dialysis and those in need of transplantation. At IMG, Dr. Govaerts will focus his practice on primary care and internal medicine needs with some nephrology services.
“I am very excited to work with the excellent physicians here at Ivinson Medical Group and continuing our collaborative patient care here in Laramie and throughout Wyoming,” Dr. Govaerts said.
Dr. Govaerts attended the University of Nebraska where he received his medical degree and completed his residency in internal medicine. He later attended the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor where he completed his Fellowship in Nephrology, studying kidney care.
Through his practice and outside of his care, Dr. Govaerts puts family values at the core of what he does.

It was his family that brought him to Laramie — a place he now calls home. Dr. Govaerts discovered his deep connection to Laramie quite serendipitously. It became a special place in his heart when his sons attended college here, and he and his wife made it their cherished home, sharing it with their two beloved dogs.
Always interested in learning, Dr. Govaerts shares his love for education by teaching younger generations. He teaches several courses to medical students that participate in the WWAMI program at the University of Wyoming. In his free time, he enjoys traveling to see family, playing golf and reading.
